A DIFFERENT AMERICA

THE SHELTER PEEP SHOW

JANUARY 16, 2017

HILL COUNTRY (MANHATTAN)

30 W 26th STREET

DOORS OPEN 6:45PM, SHOW STARTS 7:30pm

Some of the greatest artistic movements were created in response to a changing and volatile political climate—so given the current state of American politics, we asked artists to rise up with their art and make theatre. The challenge? Write about “a different America.” An America that’s different this morning than it was last night. An America where “different” is persecuted. An America where we hold different points of view, different perceptions, different pains. An America that we want to revolutionize, for which we have a different vision.

On MLK Day, the week of the Inauguration, we present 8 of these pieces as part of our on-going PEEP SHOW series. We’ve curated a unique and bold blend of short plays, monologues, and songs. This one-night event will be filled with food, music, and stripped down theatre. Join us as we explore A DIFFERENT AMERICA.
